Every year, Saul Restoration Artisans is featured in the Kutztown Pennsylvania German Festival, with the purpose of educating the public on traditional stonemasonry techniques and correct masonry restoration procedures. The focal point of our demonstration is a life-sized replica of a Pennsylvania limekiln. Limekilns were used to create lime mortars, the primary substance used in the stone pointing and construction of historic masonry buildings. Artisans limekiln is built out of four tons of hand cut gray and blue limestone with a cutaway section to reveal the inner workings of the lime burning process. If you are considering a restoration project and would appreciate a professional opinion take some time this year to come visit us at the Kutztown Pennsylvania German Festival, www.kutztownfestival.com, over the 4th of July holiday. Our experienced craftsmen would be pleased to offer any advice on how we could to assist you in your endeavor to preserve your historic masonry building. |
